Honest tradeoffs
Cardano's slower, more deliberate feature rollout is a legitimate design philosophy, but it has meant its DeFi and smart contract ecosystem developed later and remains smaller by TVL and application count than Ethereum's or several other chains'. Its extended UTXO model, while arguably safer for certain classes of bugs, has also required developers to learn different patterns than the widely documented Solidity/EVM approach most existing crypto tooling is built around, which has been a real friction point for developer adoption.
